Logos for Others
In the mid-00's, every mode of public transport appeared to give away copies of "The Da Vinci Code" with tickets. Ian was particularly enamoured with the Ambigrams featured in Dan Brown's prequel, "Demons and Angels".
Ian's manuscript, "No Man's Land" features an Ambigram, inspired by John Langdon's examples in Dan Brown's novel.
“Ambigrams are the hottest trend in typography since Helvetica.” Wired Magazine 4.20.09
Thanks to John Langdon.
John Langdon's site demonstrates the variety of ambigram designs possible, where words are hidden in the way they are presented. Ideas sometimes stem from being "blocked" and this ambigram represents that.
Ian designed a logo to go with his humorous short story "Human Crash Test Dummy".
A chump will remain so, however you look at them.
Ian's action-packed novella, Absolute Knowledge, is set in the not-too distant future. It explores advances in Neuroscience, a number of current technologies, combining them to radically change the way a person is able to think, remember, and process information. This design of a human brain with a maze hidden in the folds of it symbolise there is a great wealth of information capable of being stored in the brain; it's now a matter of how to access it.
