Question : What do most people write when they test a pen?
Answer : Their name.
Even though we live in a world of wifi, 4G and NFC, writing or signing our name means it's still one of the things we write most frequently.
Ian commonly doodles different graphical representations of people's names. Examples include : A hand, a face, a circle, window frame, a loopy ambigram logo, plus his name written upside-down.
Ian took an idea from puzzle books he owned as a child, where different letters would form the features. Unscrambling the anagram determined the word, hiding in plain sight.
The window frame logo is Ian's initials; built from of 4 't' shapes.
Drawn in a certain way, the N at the end of his Christian and surname gave him the basis for another design, where an I became an H.
Ian's left hand is scaled for the 'hand' logo.
Only the colours invert if this design is spun 180 degrees.
One last "180 degrees" image that says something else upside down.
